A silver and citrine paste thistle flower with foliage bookmark
A thistle flower citrine paste stone and foliage silver bookmark. Marked silver with Makers initials
J C & S - Joseph Cook & Son Ltd who were Silversmiths in Birmingham from 1890-1939. There is "Paten" number 15200 at the top of the blade. With no hallmark it can be assumed this would be c1890-1900.

A paste stone is a synonym for glass when used in jewellery or ornament manufacture. Glass has been used as a gemstone imitation since ancient history for obvious reasons: it’s transparent, can be colored in many ways and resembles all kinds of gemstones when polished.
