A fine example of a Victorian hardstone brooch modelled as a Targe Shield.  Polished granites outline an engraved silver five point star with a claw mounted citrine stone at its centre.

    There is no hallmarking which was not an unusual for jewellery the Victorian period.

    The piece can be worn either as a lapel brooch or as a plaid brooch.

    Generally in good condition for its age with no obvious defects.

     

    This is a second hand antique jewellery piece and will have some imperfections. Antique jewellery was primarily hand crafted(modern jewellery is more often than not cast made). They are therefore unique pieces.
