A combination of Text and drawings of impressions of Edinburgh from the early 20th century (1910) by James Bone (1872 1962) was a British journalist and London editor of the Manchester Guardian for 33 years.
There are 75 drawings, 16 full page, plus an additional 16 tipped in collotypes that are on heavier grey stock paper, each with a glassine sheet. The frontispiece is an etching of Edinburgh from Salisbury Crags printed on its glassine sheet
Hanslip Fletcher (1874 1955) was an etcher, illustrator and painter specialising in architectural studies of London and elsewhere. His work is held by Dundee University, Manchester City Art Gallery, Royal Albert Memorial Museum, Exeter, as well as the British Museum.
Condition Notes
This is a fine copy in excellent presentation with sound binding clean cover boards and bright and clean pages thropughout. There is a previous owner name and address hand written in ink in the top right hand end paper. The top paper edge is blue stained to match the cover boards.
