    In 1773 Dr Samuel Johnson and James Boswell made their famous journey through the Highlands of Scotland and the Hebrides and it has since become one of the classic Scottish travel books.

    A little more than a century later the author was commissioned to write a book following the footsteps of the famous duo.

    The book includes 22 full page black & white plates, a folding facsimile letter, a folding coloured map detailing Dr Johnson's route and 106 text illustrations.

  • Condition Notes

    In overall good condition with some rubbing and bumping of the leather cover boards - there is a repaired 3x0,5 cm tear in the leather on the reverse board. 

    The inside pages remain bright and clean throughout with tiisue paper present for the image plates and the original detached silk page market present.
