George Washington Wilson was perhaps Scotland's foremost pioneering photographer of the 19th century. The University of Aberdeen houses more than 45,000 glass negatives dating from 1870 to 1908. The photographer who was from Aberdeen took many street scenes of the city providing an important historical record of its evolution during the late Victorian period.
