    Jeanie Donnan, (1866 - 1942)  "The Galloway Poetess", was born in Gatehouse of Fleet in Kirkcudbrightshire and later moved to Whithorn where she lived on George Street. She wrote poetry specifically of Galloway about local events, nature, personages, life . Her poems mix Scottish dialect with a standardized "poetic" English.

    Heatherbloom was Jeanie Donnan's second publication. With prefatory note by Sheriff Watson

     

  • Condition Notes

    A very attractive book - a hardcover with bevelled edges and in a dark green stipple cloth with gilded titles on front board and spine . Some rubbing around the edges and the corners and at top and bottom of spine.

    Inside pages are bright with guilded top edges. There is a dedication dated  Christmas 1926 to a Mr Glen and from the author.
