    This is a classic guide from the accomplished writer Seton Gordon with over 100 illustrations (black & white etchings and watercolours) by Sir D. Y. Cameron. There is also a glossary of place-name elements with aids to pronunciation compiled by W. J. Watson (Professor of Celtic languages at the University of Edinburgh). 

    This book was first published in April 1935 with a reprint in June 1935. A new edition was only printed in 1949 and there have been several new editions printed in the 1970s and again in the 1990s.

     

    The guide remains a useful book for all interested in understanding and exploring the West Highlands of Scotland.

  • Condition Notes

    In overall good condition.

    The original dust cover is in good condition with just some light fraying around the edges - it is currently backed with paper to protect it from any further damage. The blue cover boards have been well protected from light and damage and are still bright and stain-free. There is some light bumping at top and bottom of spine. Inside pages are all bright and clean. There is an original owner name  in ink on the inside end-paper.
