    About the Author:

    James Browne born 1793 at Whitefield, Cargill and educated at St Andrews. Initially he sought to enter the Church but finally became a journalist, writer and man of letters being a sub-editor  to the 7th edition of the Encyclopedia Britannica.

    There are 8 individual volumes all in very good condition. Each is covered with a moire cloth with paper title to each spine which have some fraying towards the edges. 

    The bindings in all 8 volumes can be considered remaning tight and durable.

    The inside pages remain clear and bright in each of the volumes.
