  • Additional Product Information

During his life time(Victorian) John Noble had been a bookseller in Inverness aquiring a large amount of local history with the intention to publish it at some point. His premature death meant this never happened until John Whyte decided to edit and publish the collection in a tribute to his friend.

The "Miscellanea" relates many local stories around Inverness during 2nd half of the 19th century interspersed with poetry and finally a bibliography of Inverness newspapers and periodicals of the era.

  • Condition Notes

The book is in overall fair condition for its age.

The cover boards have some staining and general fading with wear and tear along all the edges and bumping on all corners. There is some splitting of the cloth at the spine joints and a crease down the length of it.

There is a previous owner name on the inside front end paper and again a dedication in ink dated 02(1902) on a front blank title page.

The binding is now quite loose but still intact. The pages are clean and bright with age-tanning throughout.
