    The collected Gaelic poetry of Duncan Macintyre born in 1724 at Druimliaqhart in Glenorchy. He fought in the "45" alongside the Jacobites  being present at the battle of Falkirk. He was later appointed forester or gamekeeper to the Earl of Breadalbane. He also served as city-guard in Edinburgh and eventually died at the age of 88 in 1812. The poems were first published in 1768.

    Two of the poems are accompanied with an English translation - all other in Gaelic.

     

  • Condition Notes

    In good overall condition in that it is very readable and usable and its binding remains solid. It has had some dampness that has stained and faded the coverboards, however the inside pages are still bring and clean throughout. There is previous owner name and date (1911) on inside back end-paper.
