William Ewart Gladstone (1809 – 1898) was a British statesman and Liberal politician and importantly the United Kingdom's 5th longest serving Prime Minister between 1868 and 1894.
As Prime Minister in 1879 he visited Scotland in November and December and again in March and April and these volumes are a record of each of his speeches:
Volume 1 - Speeches made between November 24th to December 8th
Volume 2 - Speeches made between March 16th and May 8th
Condition Notes
Two fine volumes in very good condition with just some looseness to the front end paper of Volume 1 and some light stains on the cover boards. Inside the pages are bright and clean throughout.
