A fine early 19th century silver hallmarked Sugar Sifter ladle. Hallmarks show Alexander Cameron, Dundee with date estimated c1820. The fine engraving on the stem would have been added at a later date as Cameron did not use any embellishments on his designs.

The hallmarks are excellent, and include the "CAM over ERON" and "DUN over DEE" marks used by Cameron. With C, thistle and pot of lilies which were usedby Cameron before he used the Edinburgh and then Newcastle Assay offices.
