  • Synopsis

Donald Gordon, CC CBE FRSE, was a Scottish-Canadian businessman and philanthropist who was born in 1901, in Scotland and died 1969, in Montreal, Canada. He immigrated to Canada in 1923 and rose to become the CEO of the Canadian National Railway (CN) from 1950 to 1966, during which time he oversaw the modernisation and expansion of the railway network. He was also a prominent philanthropist, donating to various educational and medical institutions in Canada and the United Kingdom.

  • Condition Notes

This book has a strange anomaly - thre is an error in the printing and the first 4 pages - title page, ftontispiece, publishing details and spare title page have been inserted upside down making this a quirky edition. As a result there is a "DAMAGED" stamp on the inside end-paper. Perhaps like incorrectly printed stamps thsi will add to the value the book in  the future (or maybe not!). Otherwise the book is in excellent condition with a good dustover with just some gentle fraying around the edges and inside the oages bright and clean throughout.
