Henryson issued from the noble family of Henderson of Fordell in Fife. He was a royal bard in the court of King James III (1460-1488)

The overall condition of the book varies:
The cover boards are well used and worn with the spine frayed at the top and bottom and the title label torn away.
However the inner pages are clean and bright and the book is still tight and a good copy.
