The Shore Porters Society began as a group of porters, or ‘Pynours’ who worked at Aberdeen Harbour and formed, for their mutual protection, what must be one of the oldest co-operatives in existence formed back in 1498.

  • Condition Notes

A neat volume generally well preserved and remains tightly bound. The cover boards have some rubbing along the edges and bumped corners and there is  a light water stain on the front one.

There is a previous owner book plate on inside end paper.

The inside pages are clean with some spotting especially around the edges of each page but the book remains in a very readable condition.
