James Thomson (1700-1748) was the most celebrated Scottish poet of the 1700's until Robert Burns.
His varied and complex poem The Seasons popularized a new mode of interpreting external nature, one which understood nature as a philosophy and religion, and made Thomson one of the main precursors of the Romantic Movement which followed later in the late 1700,s.
Condition Notes
As small pocket size edition from 1824 with card cover boards. There is some significant wer and tear throughout but the copy remain complete and inside pages clean and bright.
