Additional Product Information
In the Hebrides a silkie is one of the seal folk: half man, half sea creature. Following the theme of Celtic legend he rises from the sea one night and, as in the folk song, mates with a woman of the land outside her lonely croft on the western Isles of Scotland. By the legend it is the silkie's right to reclaim his child when it is born and return it to the sea. But Mary McBride bears twins and only one child is reclaimed.
The Silkie is the story of her two sons.
