  • Additional Product Information

This is the story of Maude Mary Cheape (1853-1919) who was affectionately known as "the Squire" after she inherited the Bentley estate from her father in 1893. The estate also included the estates of Carsaig and Tiroran on the Isle of Mull. She and the family were hugely popular on the Island and invested heavily in the local community. This biography was written by her daughter Maudie Ellis.

There is an interesting article published in the Oban times about her:

  • Condition Notes

A very good copy with bright red cover boards with gilt vignette and titles - the spine has some sunlight fade and generally some minot bumping along the edges. Inside the pages are bright and clean throughout.
