In 1986 on a visit to a second-hand book shop in Cheshire the author was handed a soiled album - Scotch Tour 1889. Excited by the sepia photographs he concluded a deal and took it home to spend the next months and miles discovering the people and places behind the late Victorian holiday book.
In this edition the author has made a selection from the 283 images - place: Dunkeld, Pitlochry, Glenelg, Gairloch amongst others and themes: Highland Games & crofters.
